What Makes Something a Fit
We Buy the Story, Not Just the Object.
We are not looking for everything old. We are looking for things with character, craftsmanship, beauty, material quality, usefulness, rarity, personality, or a story worth continuing.
Craftsmanship
Was it made well?
Material
Is it made from leather, wool, wood, metal, linen, pottery, natural stone, or another quality material?
Character
Does it have patina, personality, unusual detail, or visual presence?
Story
Does it carry history, provenance, place, memory, or evidence of a life lived?
Condition
Perfect Isn’t the Point.
Wear does not automatically make something less valuable to us. Good leather gets better with age. Wool softens. Wood develops patina. Metal changes. Objects collect marks from the lives they have lived.
We care more about integrity, quality, and character than perfection.
We may still pass on items that are badly damaged, structurally unsound, heavily altered, or outside the Futurology aesthetic.
A Note on What We Pass On
Not Everything Belongs Here.
Futurology is highly curated. We generally pass on mass-produced décor, disposable goods, heavily damaged items without collectible value, low-quality synthetic materials, and objects that do not align with the Futurology collection. Every piece here is chosen because it earns its place.
